Pay Per Click Advertising
What is PPC Advertising?
Pay Per Click Advertising is one of the most common forms of advertising on the Internet. Advertisers place ads on search engines, websites and blogs and only pay when a potential customers click on their ad.
How It Work?
There are three main components to a successful PPC advertising campaign.
1. Landing Page
You start by creating a web page or landing page with compelling copy and upload it to the Internet. This is the web page your visitors will see when they click on your ad. The goal of this page is to sell your product or service or invite your visitors to give you their name and email address in return for something of value. You could offer a free ebook, white paper, mini-course, software program, discount on future purchase, etc.
2. Text Ad
The second component of a PPC advertising campaign is the text ad your visitors will see while browsing the Internet. Your ad could show up on thousands of websites, blogs and in search engines like Google, MSN, Yahoo and AOL. It’s critical that your ad is compelling and offers a strong call to action in order to encourage potential customers to visit your landing page.
3. Keywords
The third and final component are the “keywords” you select for your campaign. In order for your ad to be shown to the right people, you must tell the search engines where to place your ad. For example, if you’re selling leis, you would tell the search engines to show your ad when people search for the term lei, flower lei, Hawaiian lei or some derivation of that term or when they are visiting websites about leis. It would be foolish to show an ad about a lei if someone were searching for the Statue of Liberty.
