I recently read the TMP Directional Marketing/comScore Local Search Usage Study and I couldn’t wait to talk to interview Gregg Stewart the Senior VP for TMP Directional Marketing so he could tell you about it. The study measured where consumers turn to first when looking for local business information … and here’s what they found. The primary resources used were:
  • Search engines: 31 percent
  • Print yellow pages: 30 percent
  • Internet yellow pages: 19 percent
  • Local search: 11 percent
  • Newspapers/magazines: 3 percent
  • Directory assistance: 2 percent
  • Cell phone/wireless device: 1 percent
  • Social networking sites: 1 percent
Search is moving quickly to the Internet and searchers are using their computers and telephones to find your business.

In this program, Gregg tells you what you need to do to get your business listed in the top five local search engines including: Google, Yellowpages.com, Superpages.com, CitySearch.com and MerchantCircle.com.

I’d like to tell you more about what we talked about, but I’m to excited to get the Internet Marketing Association of Hawaii website listed on local search using Gregg’s suggestions.
